Itinerary

Day 1: Christchurch – Lake Tekapo – Glacier Lake District
(Chinese or Western Dinner)
After arriving at Christchurch, our tour guide will pick you up from the airport, then drive south down towards Lake Tekapo, a distinctive glacier lake. We also visit the “Church of Good Shepherd ” by the lake. Afterwards, we will pass by Lake Pukaki, also known as the milky lake. We’ll then be staying over at lake district for the night (It is recommended that flights are scheduled to land before 2pm. Your tour guide will pick you up at 3pm, leaving the airport at 3:30pm)
Accommodation: 3* Mackenzie Country Hotel or equivalent

Day 2: Glacier Lake District – Wanaka – Te Anau
(Hotel Buffet Breakfast / Chinese Lunch / Chinese Dinner)
After breakfast, we will continue south and head for the lakeside town of Wanaka. Wanaka hides between Lake Wanaka, Lake Hawea and the Southern Alps of Mt Aspiring in the South Island’s Lake District. After lunch we will travel to Lake Te Anau, the largest lake on the South Island, which is also the gateway to Fiordland National Park and the closest town to Milford Sound. After dinner, you can choose to visit the unique Te Anau glowworm caves at your own expense. We’ll be staying over at Te Anau for the night.

Day 3: Te Anau – Milford Sound – Queenstown
(Hotel Buffet Breakfast / Milford Sound Cruise & Buffet Lunch / Chinese Dinner)
After breakfast, we will head to the Milford Sound National Park, which is known as the eighth wonder of the world. There are famous scenes such as the mirror lakes, such as Homer Tunnel, Henley Canyon and so on. Afterwards, we will take a cruise* on the Milford Fjord to see the wonderful landscapes of the Ice Age, admire the majestic and beautiful snow-capped mountains created by the glaciers and there might be a chance to see fur seals. We then travel to Queenstown, a famous resort town to stay for the night.

Day 4: Queenstown – Arrowtown – Queenstown
(Hotel Buffet Breakfast / Peak Tram Buffet Lunch / Chinese Dinner)
After breakfast, we will go to Arrowtown, a picturesque old town. Gold mines were discovered here in 1862, where the gold rush boomed. The town was famous overnight and the area was famous for its autumn beauty, gold mining history and ancient architecture. At noon time, we will be boarding the skyline gondola to the famous Bob’s Peak. You can relax here and enjoy the magnificent view of Queenstown, and enjoy a luxurious mountaintop buffet lunch. In the afternoon, you can arrange a half-day free activity in Queenstown. You can stroll along Lake Wakatipu, enjoy the view of mountains and rivers or experience the extreme outdoor sports in Queenstown. We’ll be staying at Queenstown for the night.

Day 5: Queenstown – Dunedin – Oamaru
(Hotel Buffet Breakfast / Chinese Lunch / Western Dinner)
After having breakfast, we leave and head to Dunedin, a city known for its Scottish and Maori heritage. Upon arrival, we will visit around the area, seeing the cathedral, the octagonal square with the famous Scottish poet Robert burns’ statue, the old but historic train station and the world’s most steepest residential street awaits for your challenge! After lunch, we will be travelling by the east coast to reach the coastal city of Oamaru. In Oamaru, we will be visit the classic, mysterious Whitestone City*, an interactive museum during the Victorian era. In the evening, you can enjoy the lovely scene of the Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony returning from the shore to the nest. An exclusive overnight stay at the classical manor-style hotel. (In addition, you can also join the “Yellow Eye” penguin protection program launched by the local tourism bureau in conjunction with the tour. In order to protect the endangered yellow-eyed penguin, you only need to donate $1-2 to make a special contribution).

Day 6: Oamaru – Christchurch / Homeland
(Hotel Buffet Breakfast / Chinese Lunch)
We drive back to Christchurch after breakfast and pass through the town of Timaru, the second largest city in the Canterbury region, with lots of luxurious Victorian and Edwardian buildings. Then continue north and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Canterbury plains, New Zealand’s largest plain area. We arrive at Christchurch for lunch, followed by your drop off at the airport and ending your South Island trip! (Please book your flight after 3:00pm. If your flight departs pretty late, you can visit the Antarctic Exhibition Center at your own expense.)
